A Few Things You Might Be Wondering
Wondering how it all works? Here are the most common questions I get asked about my website services and process.
-
Yes. The Template Restyle works well for therapists who are new to private practice, as well as those who’ve been relying on directories and are ready for a website of their own.
You don’t need to have everything figured out. I’ll guide you through the process step by step, using a clear structure that helps your website feel professional, appropriate, and ready to share from the start.
-
I’ll create your brand styling from your questionnaire, including your colour palette, fonts, wordmark logo, and images. You don’t need to have branding or visuals prepared in advance. The only images you’ll need to provide are photos of yourself and, if applicable, your therapy room.
Your written website content does need to be ready by our agreed start date. This allows the build to run smoothly and stay on schedule. If content isn’t ready in time, your project may need to be rescheduled, or a restart fee may apply.
All of this is outlined clearly inside your client portal, and I’ll guide you through exactly what’s needed before we begin.
-
That’s completely normal. You don’t need to be a copywriter, and you don’t need to have the perfect words ready.
You’ll receive a Website Copy Workbook that guides you through what to write for each section of your site, with prompts and examples designed specifically for therapists. It helps you organise your thoughts, focus on what matters to clients, and put your work into words in a clear, natural way.
You bring your knowledge of your practice. The workbook gives you the structure to shape it into website-ready copy.
-
To book your project, a 50% deposit is required. The remaining balance is due before launch/end of project date.
If you need something more flexible, just ask, I’m happy to find a solution where possible. -
A 50% deposit is required to book your project into my schedule. This deposit secures your place and allows me to set aside dedicated time for your build.
If you need to cancel within 14 days of booking, I’m happy to refund 20% of your deposit, provided work has not yet begun. After this point, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
Because I take on a limited number of projects at a time, booking a slot means turning away other enquiries for the same period. This structure helps protect the time reserved for your project and keeps the process running smoothly for everyone.
Full payment is due before handover, once your website is complete.
All payment terms are outlined clearly before booking, so you know exactly what to expect.
-
I usually book about two to four weeks in advance, so I would recommend getting in touch with me as soon as you start thinking you need a website and well before your deadline.
-
The Template Restyle does not include domain registration, Squarespace subscription fees, or complex custom features like e-commerce or membership portals. If you need anything outside the standard scope, we can always chat about a custom website build.
-
At this time, I only design on the Squarespace platform.
-
To launch your site, you’ll need to purchase a Squarespace hosting plan separately. I’ll guide you through the process when the time comes, and I typically recommend the Business Plan for most private practices.
You’ll also need to purchase your own domain name (if you don’t already have one). If your domain isn’t bought through Squarespace, I’ll need access to your provider account to connect it properly. I recommend GoDaddy as an affordable and reliable option that integrates well with Squarespace.
While I’ll help you get everything set up, please note that I’m not responsible for issues related to hosting or domain services after launch, such as server downtime or provider-related errors.
-
Yes - basic SEO setup is included in all website packages. This covers essentials like page titles, meta descriptions, and image optimisation to help your site get off to a good start.
Advanced SEO services, like keyword research or ongoing content strategy, aren’t included. If that’s something you’re interested in, it’s best to connect with an SEO specialist for more tailored support.
-
No. The template provides the underlying structure, not the finished look.
I restyle each template with your content, brand styling, colours, fonts, and images, shaping it around your practice and how you want clients to experience your work. While the layout is shared, the finished website reflects your services, tone, and personality.
The result feels personal and professional, not generic or cookie-cutter.
-
Yes. One round of refinements is included as part of the Template Restyle.
This is your chance to review the completed site and request small adjustments, such as wording tweaks, spacing changes, or swapping images. The aim is to make sure everything feels right before your website is finalised.
If you’d like to make additional changes beyond this, or add new pages or features, those can usually be accommodated as an add-on or booked in as follow-up support. I’ll always let you know what’s involved before going ahead.
-
No. If you’re booking a Template Restyle, there’s no need to purchase a template separately.
You’re welcome to explore the demo templates and let me know which one you’re drawn to. I’ll then use that template as the starting point and take care of the restyle and build as part of the service.
Templates are only purchased directly if you’re planning to customise and build the site yourself.
-
Yes. Once your website is complete, I’ll walk you through the backend and show you how to make common updates, like editing text or swapping images. The aim is for you to feel comfortable navigating your site, not overwhelmed by it.
You’ll also receive a clear Squarespace guide to refer back to whenever you need a reminder or want to make changes in the future.
You don’t need to be tech-confident. You just need to know where things live, and I’ll show you that.
-
If you’ve got a bigger project in mind that requires extra pages and other features, we can chat about add-ons or a custom package. Get in touch and tell me what you need.
-
You absolutely can. If you enjoy working through the setup and want to take your time, one of my DIY templates is a great option. When you purchase one of my templates you also receive 20% off an annual subscription and a 6 month free trial instead of the standard 14-days.
The Template Restyle is simply a different level of support. It’s for therapists who like the structure of a template but would rather have the styling, setup, and build handled for them, so everything feels clear, cohesive, and ready to share sooner.
Both options are built around the same therapist-specific templates. The difference is how hands-on you want to be.
-
Standard Squarespace templates are designed to work for a wide range of businesses, which means the structure is often quite generic.
My templates are designed specifically for therapists. The layouts, page flow, and content sections are already shaped around how therapy practices work and how potential clients move through a site when they’re deciding whether to get in touch.
When you choose the Template Restyle, you’re not just getting the template itself. I take care of the styling, setup, and build for you, using that therapist-specific structure as the foundation. This gives you a clear middle ground between a fully custom website and a DIY template, with far less time, stress, or decision-making on your part.
The result is a website that feels professional, considered, and appropriate for your work, without starting from scratch or having to figure everything out on your own.
-
Ongoing maintenance isn’t included in the template restyle, but Squarespace makes it easy to update your own site - and you’ll receive tutorials to help with the essentials.
If you’d prefer support after launch, I’ll be offering monthly maintenance packages soon. In the meantime, I’m always happy to recommend trusted resources or help you book a one-off update session if needed.
-
No problem at all. You can have more than one website within your Squarespace account. If you already have an existing Squarespace site, your new template-based site will simply appear alongside it in your account dashboard. They’re kept completely separate.
When you purchase a template restyle, I’ll build your new website from scratch and take care of adding your content for you. There’s no need to transfer anything over yourself. Once your new site is ready, you’ll just need to move your domain over and start a new Squarespace subscription for it.
If you’ve already paid for a subscription on your current site, we recommend reaching out to Squarespace support. They’re usually happy to offer a prorated refund when you’re switching to a new site.
Still have questions? We’re happy to help. Just get in touch here.

Not at the moment. The Template Restyle is designed to start fresh using one of my custom Squarespace templates. This helps keep the process streamlined, stress-free, and aligned with the design and strategy that works best.
